The Kingdom of Sahali is Chapter 2's secret area, gated behind the Yellow-Robed Squire (the drunken boar) questline. It's longer than most unlock chains, but every step is easy. Rewards include the Wind Tamer vessel (the counter to this chapter's final boss), a curio, a Knot of Voidness, and a meditation spot.
Step 1: find the Squire, give him a Sobering Stone
After beating the Stone Vanguard on the main path, you'll unlock the Rockrest Flat shrine nearby — the Squire sits a short walk away. Talk to him: he wants a Sobering Stone.
Two stones exist in Chapter 2; grab the easy one:
- Teleport to the Windrest Bridge shrine;
- Cross the bridge and keep going until you pass through a doorway guarded by three spearmen;
- No need to fight — the stone is in a jar inside the building.
(The other stone requires the Man-in-Stone's lengthy transformation questline, then buying it from his shop. Skip that.)
Step 2: the Crouching Tiger Temple, and a Jade Lotus
Hand over the stone, then keep talking until he repeats himself about finding food. Teleport to the Crouching Tiger Temple's entrance shrine and find him inside. This time he wants a Jade Lotus:
- Jade Lotuses grow in shallow water — odds are you already carry one;
- If not, buy one from any shrine store and hand it over.
Step 3: bring the Arhat Gold Piece, win the duel
Talk until he repeats, then return to where you first met him (near Rockrest Flat) — he'll be pacing by the gate.
- With the Arhat Gold Piece in your inventory, approaching him starts a duel;
- No gold piece? Then you killed the King in the King & Second Prince fight and still hold the Pungent Flesh Chunk: teleport to the Valley of Despair shrine and use the chunk at the cliff edge to summon the First Prince of the Flowing Sands. Defeat him for the Arhat Gold Piece.
Beat the Squire, follow him through the gate — welcome to the Kingdom of Sahali.
Sahali loot route
Compact map, two shrines, easy loot:
- Just inside the main gate, left side: a chest with the Knot of Voidness and a curio;
- Straight ahead at the far end: a meditation spot;
- Backtrack to the entrance, right side: the final chest with a Mind Core;
- Finally, defeat the area's secret Yaoguai King (Fuban) to return with the Wind Tamer.
The tiger-plaque curio's perk: sustained attacks build a damage bonus — your weapon glows red when it triggers.
Why the Wind Tamer matters
The Wind Tamer counters this chapter's final boss: activating it grants 50% damage reduction and a forceful interruption that cancels boss moves mid-animation. Grab it before the finale and the fight drops a full difficulty tier.
